Avoid Being a Scrub by Wearing Cheap Landau Scrubs

Words are wonderful. We can add and subtract pieces from them, move them around in a sentence, and create entire books from them. One of the most fascinating aspects of words is the multiple meanings that they can have. For instance, consider the word "run." It can mean moving faster than walking, competing in a race, extending in a certain direction, installing a wire in a certain place, moving something through something else, using a machine to process something, participating as a candidate in an election, and so on.

SCRUB: DOING, BEING, AND WEARING

Another interesting word is "scrub." Typically, we first think of this word as a verb. We scrub dirt from a piece of material, we scrub flooring to make it sparkling clean, etc. However, a scrub can also be a small person, a mongrel, a short tree or shrub, or an athletic player who is not on a team's starting lineup.

In addition to being a scrub and doing a scrub, we can also wear a scrub. Besides being a person, animal, or tree, a scrub can also exist as clothing. Typically, surgeons, nurses, and other workers in an operating room, wear scrubs such as cheap landau scrubs. The term "scrubs" refers to surgery personnel that "scrubs in" during a surgery.

WEARING SCRUBS WITHOUT "SCRUBBING IN"

Interestingly, the use of scrubs in hospitals has expanded beyond surgery rooms. In fact, hospital personnel often wear scrubs in any environment that is clean as a bean. Some employees of dental and doctor's offices also wear scrubs.

Various personal not related to the medical field, wear scrubs. Certain prisons throughout the United States require their inmates to wear scrubs, as their prison uniform. Such attire is much more comfortable and hygienic than the old-fashioned horizontal uniforms featured in period movies. Other scrub-wearers can include unit clerks and custodians.

NOT ALL SCRUBS ARE THE SAME

What can we classify as "scrubs"? In the medical world, scrubs typically include the combination of uniform short-sleeve shirts and pants, which medical personnel wear. However, scrubs can also include other attire as well. That includes a long-sleeved jacket that is waist-length, with stockinette cuffs. Medical personnel refer to this article of clothing as a "warm-up jacket." However, regardless of its classification, virtually all American and Canadian patient care employees wear a type of scrubs, when they are on duty.

A NORTH AMERICAN TRADITION

While scrubs are particularly popular in North America, their use is not universal. For example, outside of the United States and Canada, scrubs are less common. Doctors often wear everyday clothes and a white doctor's coat, except when they perform surgery. Also, the uniforms of midwives and nurses in Europe typically include a dress, or a tunic and trousers.

While the word "scrubs" has numerous meanings, its function as a form of attire is particularly interesting. Scrubs are comfortable, sanitary, and versatile. Make sure to put quality scrubs on, regardless of whether your job includes "scrubbing in." Avoid being a scrub, by wearing one!
